Mekong Delta: January 20-21

We decided to get to Cambodia via a two-day cruise through the Mekong Delta. The scenery was really interesting and it was so relaxing! We took a boat like this:

The inside of the boat, and our companions for the next two days:

We had a couple silly stops along the way, including this "factory" where they make coconut candy. Soooo tasty! Here's our guide explaining how it's made:

HERE is where we tried snake wine. It's actually not so bad, but our particular jug happened to have a bird carcass in it too, which disgusts me more for some reason:

Our lunch: a Mekong Delta specialty, elephant-eared fish. You pick off some meat and make your own spring rolls. Pretty good, but really scary looking!

On the ferry that took us from our boat to the "mini-hotel" where we'd be spending the night. For the three of us girls, we basically got one giant bed the exact size of our room. Not the best place I've ever stayed.

There was a pretty awesome temple in that tiny town though:

More scenery on the way to Cambodia:

We stopped at a really small village in the Delta. There were tons of really cute/sad little kids there. Unfortunately, there was also a sign saying not to buy anything from them, as it could be really old and potentially harmful.
